Jaclyn Jones performs solo and chamber concerts throughout the United States and teaches aspiring guitarists for various schools in Connecticut. Her playing has been featured at Guitar Salon International and Guitar Foundation of America’s GFAtv.

Ms. Jones headlined at Odeon’s “Women in Guitar” Series in New York City as well as the 2020 Fall Guitar Weekend online festival. She has performed solo concerts for the Boston Classical Guitar Society, Philadelphia Guitar Society, NJ Guitar & Mandolin Society, and Connecticut Guitar Society and played for special events like Leo Brouwer’s 80th Birthday Celebration Concert. She is co-founder of the Luca Duo with award winning mezzo soprano Meng-Chieh Hsieh as well as the Guitar Squad guitar quartet.

In media, Jaclyn appeared as a guest artist on WPAA-TV’s Music with Purpose show and premiered the 2021 Connecticut Guitar Festival’s Concerts and Conversation series. She is passionate about showcasing new compositions and has premiered music by Apostolos Paraskevas, Damien McCluskey, and Michael Stubblefield, some which were written for her. Jaclyn has played at notable venues such as the Connecticut Governor’s Residence, the Wadsworth Atheneum, the Buttonwood Tree Performing Arts & Cultural Center, the Eric Carle Museum, and the Augusta Curtis Cultural Arts Center.

Ms. Jones earned her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the Hartt School of Music with performing arts scholarships and was selected to play several 20/20 Honors Chamber Music concerts. Jaclyn has performed in numerous masterclasses for renowned musicians such as Oscar Ghiglia, Scott Tennant, Leo Brouwer, Antigoni Goni, Odair Assad, and the Brasil Duo.

Teaching

Jaclyn is a compassionate teacher with over ten years’ experience working with young beginners to aspiring professionals.

Her teaching was featured in six episodes of Guitar Foundation of America’s GFAtv Season 1. She was a guest lecturer at the 2020 Fall Guitar Weekend festival, as well as a music history seminar at University of St. Joseph’s. Ms. Jones was also a guest teacher running a Technique Workshop at Connecticut Guitar Society’s Guitar Day.

Jaclyn received formal teacher training in the Suzuki Guitar Method and currently teaches in her private studio as well as the Ethel Walker School and Martocchio Music. She founded the Grace Academy Guitar Department in Hartford, CT, and taught at the Community School of the Arts, the Music School at Sound Crossing, and the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts.

Ms. Jones enjoys volunteering in the community. Jaclyn co-founded the Connecticut Guitar Guild and is an active Board Member of the Connecticut Guitar Society. She has played concerts for patients at the Jefferson House of Hartford Hospital and the Hospital for Special Care.

Jaclyn also founded the Simsbury Historical Society concert series and was the Music Director for two years. Ms. Jones plays a 2018 Smallman/O’Leary hybrid model by Chapman & Fisher Guitars and uses Augustine Strings.
